The different chromosome complements at  
mitotic metaphase stained by 2% aceto-orcein
(2n=48, the upper figure and 2n=64, the lower  
figure)  in  Ranunculus sieboldii
(Ranunculaceae)  collected in mainland China.

Saxifraga foliolosaR.Br. is widely distibuted in  Northern Europe, West, Central and east Siberia  and Far East Russia, and North America. The  chromosome numbers of 2n=40, 48, 56 and 64  were previously reported in thisnspecies, and  furthermore, a new chromosome number of 2n=60  was observed in the present study.
